Nên hóa chất proxitane được dùng thay thế cho BKC, Formalin ( formol ) cho việc sát khuẩn ao nuôi tôm. Hóa chất proxitane 15:23 cũng có thể cắt tảo độc trong ao nuôi, phân hủy chất hữu cơ dư thừa, đồng thời cung cấp oxy cho môi trường nước ao nuôi tôm. Hóa chất proxitane được sử dụng để khử trùng nhanh cho các bề mặt dụng cụ tiếp xúc với thực phẩm, đặc biệt trong ngành bia, nước giải khát, chế biến sữa, đóng hộp, đóng chai thực phẩm và rau quả, chế biến thủy hải sản thịt, đường, bánh ngọt, chocolate và kẹo. Hóa chất proxitane rất hiệu quả trong việc khử trùng tất cả các loại vi sinh vật, ngay cả trong điều kiện nước lạnh. Thành phần peracetic acid trong hóa chất proxitane giúp cho sản phẩm có hiệu quả thanh trùng nhanh và sự hiện diện của hydrogen peroxide giúp cho sản phẩm thích ứng với việc ngâm nhúng hay bơm gội. Hướng dẫn sử dụng Proxitane Mùi của hóa chất proxitane : ở nồng độ loãng sử dụng thì gần như không mùi. Tuy nhiên, hóa chất proxitane ở dạng đậm đặc có mùi rất mạnh và đặc trưng giúp cho người sử dụng có thể phân biệt ngay với các hóa chất khác. Hóa chất proxitane sẽ phụ thuộc vào các yếu tố : nồng độ, nhiệt độ và các loại vi sinh cần tiêu diệt. Tuy nhiên, thông thường chúng ta sử dụng hóa chất proxitane với nồng độ 0,05%–0,3% (chủ yếu 0,2-0,5%). Nhiệt độ sử dụng hóa chất proxitane trong khoảng 5–20[sup]º[/sup]C, nếu khoảng 50ºC thì hiệu quả thanh trùng cao hơn và thời gian thanh trùng ngắn hơn. Không sử dụng hóa chất proxitane ở nhiệt độ cao hơn 50ºC. Dung dịch hóa chất proxitane ở nồng độ cao có thể lưu trữ lại để tái sử dụng, tuy nhiên với điều kiện là không quá bẩn và phải bổ sung thêm hóa chất proxitane để đảm bảo nồng độ. Do proxitane ở nồng độ cao có mùi rất nồng, gây cay mắt nên khi sử dụng, pha dung dịch, vận chuyển … chúng ta nên mang khẩu trang, găng tay và kính bảo hộ an toàn Cách bảo quản hóa chất proxitane Cách bảo quản để sử dụng hóa chất proxitane : nồng độ hóa chất proxitane dễ bị sụt giảm khi để bay hơi ngoài không khí.
